Let me introduce myself.

Kate Thompson, MS, LPCC, LADC

Kate Thompson

Since childhood I’ve never felt more at peace than when I can hear the ocean talking. From the gentlest movement of a calm day to the roaring crashing waves of a windy night, my heart feels best when there is saltwater in the air. The ocean is a lot like our lives with the variation between the moments we experience. I want to help individuals experience their changing tides to the fullest.

As a licensed clinician since 2013, and working in mental health care since 2010, I have worked with clients as young as 5 and as young at heart as 97. My professional passion lies in helping people achieve their goals, becoming a more genuine version of themselves, and guiding individuals through the difficult phases of their lives. I love my career and my goal is to ensure the clients I work with have an enjoyable, and useful, time with me.

I operate from a heavily client centered and eclectic lens, preferring to meet clients where they’re at rather than using one specific modality of treatment. I have training in DBT, CBT, trauma work, substance use disorders, and beyond and experience treating adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. My areas of professional focus include
- life transitions
- personal growth
- career development
- medical professional stress and burnout
